There are professing believers who take the Lord's words in Matthew 12:40 to mean that He must truly and literally have been a full 72 hours "in the heart of the earth." Such teaching can only serve to wreak havoc on one's faith in the inspired written word, that is the God given received text. Granted, there are what we may call "renderings" and "punctuations" in certain places that us moderns may think should have been better translated, but ever remember the Authorized Version was published over 400 years ago when English was an altogether different language! The KJV 1611 is only a translation. The Scriptures are only inspired in the original Hebrew and Greek tongues, and they came without "chapter and verse" and 'English' punctuation, nevertheless, it is the content in the manuscripts employed by the translators of the KJV 1611 that are inspired. A full defence is beyond the scope of this small article.
It is agreed by all teachers of God's written word that it is not wise to base any doctrine on one verse alone without scriptural support. So, if the Lord was truly and literally "in the heart of the earth" for a full "three days and three nights", that is 72 hours, then the Friday crucifixion could not have happened, this much is obvious.
In Matthew 12:40, on "the three days and three nights" the Lord is quoting Jonah 1:17 verbatim; "Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights." It is an established fact in Mosaic Judaism (biblical Judaism!) that the Jews reckoned the night with the day*. Therefore if Jonah wasn't in the "belly of the fish" for the timescale of what us moderns understand as a full 72 hours, then the same would be true of the Lord in Matthew 12:40.
So it must have been that Jonah was "swallowed up" and inside the "great fish" late on a Friday, all through the Saturday Sabbath, and "vomited out" (Jonah 2:10) early on a Sunday morning. He 'rose' on a Sunday morning to go to Nineveh. This "great city" being a microcosm for the whole Gentile world to whom the Lord would give the "great commission" (Matthew 28:18-20). Again, let me remind the reader that the Lord was quoting verbatim from the Jewish Scriptures, and that He is a Jew! When He "created the heavens and the earth" the "morning" was always spoken with the "evening", see Genesis 1:5-1:31. The Lord quoted extensively from the book of Genesis throughout the Gospels, and everyone knows, believer and unbeliever alike that every day includes an evening and a morning.
Let us look for evidence that the Lord was indeed resurrected on Sunday morning.
"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread" Acts 20:7. Why would Jewish believers come together on a Sunday to "break bread" in the name of the Lord if they didn't believe He was resurrected on the first day of the week, also known as "the Lord's day"? Similarly, the disciples were ordered on "the first day of the week" to "lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him.." (1 Corinthians 16:1-2); again, why on "the first day of the week"? what be the significance? John "was in the Spirit on the Lord's day" Revelation 1:10, again, what be the significance of this, if He hadn't risen on that Easter Sunday morning? Likewise, in John 20:19, "Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week". This buttresses perfectly with Mark 16:9 where we read that the Lord "was risen early on the first day of the week." (Emphasis's mine). Abraham, the father of faith, "of all them that believe" (see Romans 4:11) was given the covenant of circumcision which pointed to the eighth day, a new day, the resurrection day of our Lord which was the first day of the week. This new day came to be known as the Christian Sabbath, the Lord's day. The unbelieving Jewish sabbath remains the same, the Christian believer is under the new covenant, the Lord Jesus is truly "Lord even of the sabbath day." Matthew 12:8.
Let us not lose sight of the fact that the Jewish Scriptures are none other than our Old Testament; the unbelieving Jews are blinded to the truth of the New Testament. I believe that those who believe and teach a literal 72 hour stay in "the heart of the earth" are deceived and are doing a very great disservice to the Gospel Truth of Christ. "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." Psalm 119:89. But not according to those who would shipwreck the faith of some, who would otherwise trust the plenary inspiration of holy writ.
The Lord "rose the third day according to the Scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15:4.

Dr John Gill writes (and to this all, the other great reformed expositors agree, Matthew Henry, Matthew Poole, Jamieson, Fausett & Brown, and countless others) .
"To solve this difficulty, and set the matter in a clear light, let it be observed, that the three days and three nights mean three natural days, consisting of day and night, or twenty four hours, and are what the Greeks call "night days"; but the Jews have no other way of expressing them, but as here; and with them it is a well known rule, and used on all occasions, as in the computation of their feasts and times of mourning, in the observance of the Passover, circumcision, and diverse purification's, that "a part of a day is as the whole" and so, whatever was done before sun setting, or after, if but an hour, or ever so small a time before or after it, it was reckoned as the whole preceding, or following day; and whether this was in the night part, or day part of the night day, or natural day, it mattered not, it was accounted as the whole night day: by this rule, the case here is easily adjusted; Christ was laid in the grave towards the close of the sixth day, a little before sun setting, and this being part of the night day preceding, is reckoned as the whole; He continued there the whole night day following, being the seventh day; and rose again early on the first day, which being after sun setting, though it might be even before sun rising, yet being a part of the night day following, is to be esteemed as the whole; and thus the Son of man was to be, and was three days and three nights in the grave; and which was very easy to be understood by the Jews; and it is a question whether Jonas was longer in the belly of the fish."

The Ungodly NHS! State Genocide?
Further to my last couple of posts; in an unbelieving world it is nigh on impossible to communicate the Truth as it is in Christ.
Of late, HM Government have conferred on the devilish NHS an almost godlike status! The clarion daily call is "Protect the NHS" and "Save lives", these are the current buzz words that emanate daily from 10 Downing Street.
I say the NHS (National Hit Service) is doing the diametric opposite, it is killing people! Yet the population are so dumbed down they can't see the wood for the trees! "Trust me, I'm a doctor!"
Don't trust any of them, they really don't know what is in any drug or vaccination they daily dish out to those poor souls in hospital wards and nursing homes up and down the length and breadth of our nation, do they? (or any other nation upon God's earth). Who is behind this? The pharmaceutical behemoths! The very people we have to rely upon to produce a vaccination that will 'save' us! God help us all! Initially, when the vaccination is rolled out, it will be optional; in time mandatory. Different strains of the vaccination will be administered to varying age-groups, the health 'professionals' will 'know', for every vaccination will be by postal appointment! so beware-you have been warned! The NHS is as all would agree, a massive government organisation with some 1.5 million employees in England alone! They all have many and varied interconnected roles, surgeons, doctors, nurses, managers, purchasers, health workers and the rest, yet hardly any of them, if any, can see the big picture going on. Yet some in the corridors of power must do, a select small group, they do know the truth.
One would have to be a total ignoramus not to know of the powerful ongoing and militant "global warming", "carbon footprint", "save the planet", and "over population" green agenda that is underpinning all HM Government's 'plans' along with the WHO and the Gates Foundation in these evil days. They "follow the science!" Yes "science falsely so called" 1 Timothy 6:20. We are in times of great deception that the Lord said would come upon us; "Take heed that no man deceive you" Matthew 24:4 (my emphasis).
Relatives and friends have been ordered to "STAY SAFE" & "STAY AT HOME" in this satanic situation unfolding before our very eyes; the so-called "useless-eaters" in hospitals and 'care' homes are being mowed down like flies! How do they know (or care, even?) if their elderly parents are being murdered (I say wittingly) by the so-called 'health professionals'? Ignorance/deception will "cut no ice" with God. We have been told for many a year that the NHS is at "breaking point", and that the current situation with the exponentially increasing "baby boomers" coming into retirement age that the welfare state/NHS will collapse under its own weight, have we not? Well, are we not currently witnessing the Government's 'solution' to all of this, unfolding before us? Coronavirus, so-called is a tool of the devil to bring about the "new normal" or rather the New World Order, and he is currently "going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." (Job 1:7) creating confusion in every seat of power throughout God's earth!
The National Health Service was born in 1948, the same year of the rebirth of Israel! A coincidence? no-God doesn't play dice! The United Kingdom was instrumental in bringing about the modern nation of Israel via the Balfour Declaration, and the God fearing men behind this major prophetical event knew that Israel had to be established back in its own land (in unbelief) before Christ would return to destroy the Antichrist. Israel is "the apple of His eye" Deuteronomy 32:10, what of the NHS? from what source did this wicked organisation flow from? The NHS was the brainchild of the Marxist Socialist Aneurin Bevan of Cardiff, an atheist and therefore a very ungodly man! I ask, can anything good come from a poisoned source? If you want to know the biblical answer to this, please read James 3:11-12. As events are currently unfolding, we are seeing the rotten fruit of the NHS, the 'service' that negates any personal responsibility toward ourselves and our neighbour as the Scriptures would have us do. We have, over this last seventy years been brainwashed to accept that the NHS is beneficial for our well being, a "force for good" and that will "look after all from the cradle to the grave", such is the devilish deception! Who, bar the Creator God in Christ has such an ultimate mandate?
To any with just a little biblical discernment, it is not too difficult to answer this, is it not?
When the Lord comes back and sets His millennial government up from the new Jerusalem, there will be no NHS, nor any such ungodly organisation-praise His holy name!
The Gospel of Christ offers true freedom, the world under its present god (Satan) offers oppression and despotism! The National Health Service is destroying people, not saving them! All the 'science' and 'progress' so-called: where are we today? Truly, "there is no new thing under the sun"! The NHS is witchcraft and sorcery dressed in a modern garb! Ever remember, the Greek word for sorcery is pharmakiea from whence we get pharmacy, pharmaceutical, pharmacologist; the truth is 'hidden' in plain sight!

The Invisible Enemy Is Not Coronavirus!

We are currently witnessing in the manufactured coronavirus an abominable work; through godless governments the world over. These governments are under the sway of the "god of this world", they know it not, for if they deny that God exists, then obviously it goes without saying that Satan doesn't exist! They will speak of God's written word as a "myth" and "not relevant for today" and so on...
Coronavirus is the myth NOT the Holy Bible! The invisible enemy is Satan. The power that God in Christ has given to him is quite something.
If Satan could take the Lord Jesus "up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them." Matthew 4:8 (and Luke:5) adds "in a moment of time", then how much power does he wield!?
The great conflict of the ages will end at an appointed time that only God knows, but be assured, He "shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly." Romans 16:20, the apostle quoting from the first prophecy of the coming Messiah in Genesis 3:15. The Lord Jesus will destroy the Antichrist "with the brightness of His coming." 2 Thessalonians 2:8 and Satan will join him and the false prophet in the "lake of fire" (Revelation 20:10) in the coming Day of the Lord.

Are Our Thoughts Our Own? And My Thoughts On Coronavirus.
What are thoughts and what is conscience? From whence do they come?
According to Dictionary.com one of the definitions of conscience is:
The complex of moral and ethical principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual.
Quite where the line is drawn between a person's thoughts and his conscience seem to me at any rate, to be impossible to discern. Are they not one and the same thing?
A person who tries his or her best to live according to the Ten Commandments, or more specifically in the case of a Christian, Christ's moral law (Matthew 22:37-40) would (or at least should!) have their thoughts governed accordingly; so in theory they would not be capable of committing any crime. Contrariwise, it stands that a person who hasn't this internal law governing them would make up their own mind as to what was right or wrong, or good and bad. The only restraining factor in their lives would be the law of the land.
As a Christian who believes that God in Christ is the first cause, that is the Creator, then of necessity, all thoughts, consciences, call them what you will, are God given, be they good or bad.
In the case of Bezalel, Oholiab, and others, the God ordained craftsmen who were employed in the construction of the tabernacle; it was God who "put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary..." Exodus 36:1. Therefore all their planning, thinking, and thoughts employed in their workmanship were not their own, it was orchestrated from above. "A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven." John 3:27, see also James 1:17. In the case of the Assyrian (and by extension, the future Antichrist, of which the Assyrian was a notable type), God used him as the tool to accomplish His purposes, yet it is written "Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so." Isaiah 10:7, here, the thoughts were the Assyrian's, yet God was in control of them! Judas, who betrayed the Lord Jesus, likewise fulfilled God's plan down to the last letter, yet his thoughts and motives were all his own. "God is not the author of confusion" 1 Corinthians 14:33, nor of evil, yet He permits these things to happen, for He has given the world over to Satan (through man's fall), who is the author of confusion and of evil. Satan is "the god of this world" 2 Corinthians 4:4. The Lord addressed Peter as "Satan" (Matthew 16:23) because he said He wouldn't be crucified! So how much power does the devil have over the unbeliever? In one word, TOTAL!
Many an unbeliever has freely confessed when it comes to ideas (brilliant or otherwise), inventions, business plans, murders, adulteries, thefts, etc, etc, when asked how, why, or where, the thought, or idea came from, the reply is always something like "it just came out of nowhere!" or "I heard a voice in my head!" and so on.
If "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD..." Proverbs 21:1, how much more his subjects?
Many a Christian will admit to God's omnipresence (which means He is in everyplace "beholding the evil and the good" Proverbs 15:3, yet like the unbeliever, they will believe in contagious diseases*, that is that viruses can be passed between humans by whatever means, when the true and only cause is God, for "He is upholding all things by the word of His power" Hebrews 1:3 (my emphasis). Medical science has to offer theories as to how people catch measles, influenza, colds (coranavirus is just another label) for they will never attribute the cause to God! would that not be giving Him the glory?
*Some argue from silence that leprosy is a contagious disease because of Leviticus 13:4-6 as God said the priest must isolate the leper; that is "shut him up". Yet the priest obviously had to come in very close contact with the leper to "look on him"! I wonder why the priest didn't catch it? I think I know why! When you read of the leprosy spreading in the leper, it was only spread in his own body, and only by following the God ordained method could the leprosy be stopped and would "spread not in the skin". It is plainly evident that leprosy, and by extension, all future diseases, viruses, call them what you will, cannot traverse this law, for there is essentially only one disease and that is SIN! And God has caused sin to manifest itself in various and multitudinous ways.

TRUE KNOWLEDGE!
In a soon coming Day God "will destroy the wisdom of the wise" 1 Corinthians 1:19 ff.
I think any discerning believer would agree that the governments around the world are in league with the World Health Organisation, the International Monetary Fund, the Green Movements, global warming agenda, over population etc (all ungodly humanistic organisations) are using this mythical virus to bring about a New World Order, and in this they are succeeding, putting people where they want them; under their control. How would we know they are correctly attributing deaths to this virus? People die all the time from the flu, colds, pneumonia and what have you.
The way the elderly (coined by many as useless eaters, and a drain on the welfare state, pensions etc) have been abandoned whole-scale is simply shocking! how many pensioners up and down the length and breadth of the UK (and the rest of the world) will have died not from the non-existent virus, but the "measures" brought in to curtail it? Care homes everywhere report that multiple deaths in every home; staff too scared to go near the residents, and what of those living on their own? How many will have died at home because care workers are "self isolating" or too scared (because they believe the lie) to go near them?
This whole 'pandemic' is FEAR DRIVEN! The Bible says "fear hath torment" 1 John 4:18 (doesn't it just?)
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God , and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26. (emphasis mine). Do we take God in Christ at His Word or no? Do we believe that it was the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ that delivered Israel across the Red sea or not,?this is the grand question, is it not? Lets not adopt the mindset of many a Christian who would tell us that these promises were only for ancient Israel.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and forever." Hebrews 13:8.
Was it for nothing that the Saviour spoke those penetrating words in Luke 18:8?

I think any discerning believer would agree that the governments around the world are in league with the World Health Organisation, the International Monetary Fund, the Green Movements, global warming agenda, over population etc (all ungodly humanistic organisations) are using this mythical virus to bring about a New World Order, and in this they are succeeding, putting people where they want them; under their control. How would we know they are correctly attributing deaths to this virus? People die all the time from the flu, colds, pneumonia and what have you.
The way the elderly (coined by many as useless eaters, and a drain on the welfare state, pensions etc) have been abandoned whole-scale is simply shocking! how many pensioners up and down the length and breadth of the UK (and the rest of the world) will have died not from the non-existent virus, but the "measures" brought in to curtail it? Care homes everywhere report that multiple deaths in every home; staff too scared to go near the residents, and what of those living on their own? How many will have died at home because care workers are "self isolating" or too scared (because they believe the lie) to go near them?
This whole 'pandemic' is FEAR DRIVEN! The Bible says "fear hath torment" 1 John 4:18 (doesn't it just?)
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God , and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26. (emphasis mine). Do we take God in Christ at His Word or no? Do we believe that it was the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ that delivered Israel across the Red sea or not,?this is the grand question, is it not? Lets not adopt the mindset of many a Christian who would tell us that these promises were only for ancient Israel.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and forever." Hebrews 13:8.
Was it for nothing that the Saviour spoke those penetrating words in Luke 18:8?

Supermarkets "no longer want your cash."
Further to my last post regarding the coming cashless society that will pave the pay toward the mark of the beast system that will come to pass in the near future (Revelation 13:16-18), I read on tonight's BBC news under the headline "Coronavirus: Supermarkets limit shoppers as rules tighten" 24th March 2020 (bbc.co.uk/news/business-52022240) :
"They also no longer want your cash. Instead supermarkets are trying to encourage shoppers to pay by contactless card to cut down on potentially virus-covered cash being passed around the population." (My emphasis).
I can't be dogmatic about the figures, but is it a stretch to believe that collectively, the major supermarkets combined constitute something in the order of 90% of all money (cash and card transactions) that is spent on food products in the UK and other western nations? Considering their collective clout, does not a statement like this give the European governments, and elsewhere, much fuel to go completely cashless?
I never thought (in my unregenerate life at least!) that I would see the day that business would think cash to be undesirable-but such are the days we are living in-the end times!
It is important to realise that the mark of the beast system, when it is foisted upon the world (Revelation 13:16-17) will take place at the time of Antichrist during the last three and a half years of this age. Until that time certain prophetic events must come to pass, most notably the literal rebuilt city of Babylon, so that it can be literally destroyed as depicted in Revelation 18. I believe this city will rise (we may say literally overnight!) within the next ten years, rebuilt on its old foundations. It is said of this city that "they left off to build the city." Genesis 11:8, for God did "scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." Genesis 11:9. The world will come together to build this "great city" where it will be said of her "what city is like unto this great city?" Revelation 18:18 (RV). Babylon is not Rome!
This know also, that in the last days perilous (grievous RV) times shall come. 2 Timothy 3:1.

Coronavirus-a few thoughts.
It is my personal belief that the so-called "coronavirus" pathogen is nothing other than the common cold, or flu. That it originated from China adds another dimension to it; that there is a greater collaboration between the nations than we have been led to believe. It is being used to bring about a new world order which will culminate in the arrival of Satan's "man of sin", whom the Lord Jesus "shall destroy with the brightness of His coming." 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8. Let us not forget that all the world powers are under Satan's direct influence, yet they know it not, for he is "the prince of the power the air" Ephesians 2:2, he is "the god of this world" 2 Corinthians 4:4, yea all the kingdoms of this present world (Greek: age) are given to him to do what he will.
It is a fact that only people with "pre-existing medical conditions" (or those with a low immune system) have died so far as a result of this mythical virus.
In a time where the world is overrun with "climate-change-global warming" and "over-population" scare stories, it won't be long before the 'super vaccine' is developed, possibly with some kind of built in latent ability to take out the elderly/weaker members of the world's population (otherwise known as "useless eaters" who are a drain on resources). Satan is a "murderer" (John 8:44) and he is busy at his work; truly "the whole world lieth in wickedness" 1 John 5:19!
If you hitherto didn't think the world was "barking mad" you do now! Fear is reigning! But God in Christ has not given His people "the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 (my emphasis). How can the true believer fear something like this? Nevertheless the whole world is in a state of utter delirium because of the mythical coronavirus!
Toilet rolls, tinned foods, pasta, hand washing liquids/soaps, are flying off the shelves as soon as they land on them! Regarding "hand sanitiser's" the authorities are advising us to go into overkill as it were in the washing of our hands! We all use cash in the form of used banknotes and old coins, should we not wash our hands after every time we handle them? I mean, do any of us know who has been handling the stuff, and where it has been? the mind boggles! Truly cash is "filthy lucre"! but not in the sense that the Bible speaks of it. Where this is all leading-is it not too difficult to see? We all know that credit/debit cards, electronic transactions, I-phone payments etc,etc are the order of the day, will HM Govt phase cash out altogether as a direct result of this mythical virus? The health 'professionals' and the greater population will think it beneficial to our overall well being, will they not? In one fell-swoop the black market will be eradicated, every transaction will be known and traceable-how good for HMRC's coffers? To some degree, but on a minuscule scale no-doubt, the art of bartering will re-emerge. I have my own hens, and sell eggs from an "honesty box" at the front of the house; what will I do? Will I have to get a wireless card reader installed inside the box to take payments?
This scenario will no doubt pave the way to the mark of the beast system in Revelation 13:16-17:
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 14:9-11 in no uncertain terms informs us that whoever receives this mark will be forever damned! This is solemn indeed. Having said this, certain prophetic events need to take place before this "mark" will be foisted on the population; led by the literal rebuilt Babylon (read Revelation 18), and to put a time scale on it will be only to speculate, but I have a hunch it will be in the order of 15-20 years.
In the short term, after the world's governments have massively increased their control over their citizens, we will see a period of increased prosperity the world over after this 'virus' has been defeated and I believe we will see the world congratulate itself on the successful prevention of what could have been the new black plague. Things will go back to normal as it were, but not as we had previously known-this will be the 'new normal'! The marginalization, and persecution of true Christians the world over will be on a scale not hitherto seen before.
The world will be content with the new normal, or rather the new world order; in every place saying "Peace and safety", but at the appointed time, "sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3. "And as were the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the day of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:37; without warning "he that shall come will come, and will not tarry." Hebrews 10:37.
As that old saint John Bunyan would repeatedly exhort; "CLOSE IN WITH CHRIST!"

The Wisdom Of John Bunyan.
Mistrust thy own strength, and throw it away; down on thy knees in prayer to the Lord for the spirit of truth; search His word for direction; fly seducer's company; keep company with the soundest Christians, that have most experience of Christ; and be sure thou have a care of Quakers, Ranters, Freewillers; also do not have too much company with some (my emphasis) Anabaptist's, though I go under that name myself. I tell thee this is such a serious matter, and I fear thou wilt so little regard it, that the thoughts of the worth of the thing, and of thy too light regarding of it, doth even make my heart ache whilst I am writing to thee. The Lord teach thee the way by His Spirit, and then I am sure thou wilt know it. So RUN.

If one doesn't know what Quakers, Ranters and Anabaptist's believe, it is not too difficult to find out, for if you have found this page, you can "Google it" as they now say today! As for "Freewillers" the meaning can be deduced from the simple word; that is those who would deny God's sovereign right to determine who will, or who will not be saved. The doctrine of freewill leads to many an error, and if any of the names of this theological school are found in God's "book of life" at the Lord's return, it will only be because He put them there! how thankful will they be to Him for that?

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8.
Here we are in 2020, over 300 years after the saintly Bunyan's passing; how much harder must it now be to find "the soundest Christians" as he writes?
